We got some more nice pictures from our friend Anita Simmons taken at a couple of events on the east coast. We don't get to see a lot of these cars except for the National events, so many thanks to Anita for sharing her pictures. We'll have more from this set later this weekend, plus coverage of the Paperboy and the CMA from Romance, WI on Sunday.
The Central MudRacing Association has recently updated some changes to track conditions at some of their upcoming races. They are now running dual tracks (mud track and fast track) at many of their races! This is great news for the higher horsepower classes, which have seen several roll overs this season across the country, Check out the CMA Schedule for full information. The Paperboy will be running next with the CMA at Romance, WI (Aug 1st), which will feature dual tracks and an extended shut down area. There is also a nice race next weekend at Preston, MN which draws a huge crowd! Here are some of the upcoming changes for the CMA schedule:
7/31 Preston, MN Single track, BIG Crowd!
8/1 Romance, WI New widened dual tracks with extended shutdown
8/21 Whitehall, WI Nice dual tracks, as usual. One of Team Paperboy's favorite races last year!
8/22 Augusta, WI New dual tracks with lots of shutdown area. A permanent facility just for mudracing!
8/28 Neillsville, WI Great dual tracks! Another favorite!
10/9 Richland Center, WI Great dual tracks! This race was awesome last fall!
Hope to see you at some CMA events this season! They are a great organization that is constantly improving their races for the racers and the fans.
OK, now for the awesome pics, which are coming to us coutesy of Anita Simmons, Possessed Photography, who is the team photographer for open class mud racer Jason Massie (Maxxed Out). Anita has been shooting mud racing events for many years and there is no doubt who her favorite racer is! Anita shoots a lot of pics for the WVMRA . She shoots with a Sony A700 and uses a Tamron 200-500mm zoom to get great shots from a safe distance. Keep up the great work, Anita, and thanks for sharing some pics!
The Paperboy Express is now "Whipple" powered! That's right, on loan to the team for experimental purposes is a Whipple supercharger from our good buddy Lionel Parker "Living on the Edge". Lionel is still rebuilding his racer from the ground up and we hope to see him slinging the mud himself next season. Anyway, the guys had the Whipple on for it's first run out at the Overlander's race this past weekend in Peoria, Illinois. Apologies for the delay in getting the video up, but the blogmaster is still recovering from a high school reunion weekend in Chicago.
The Paperboy won the race although they need do do some fine tuning on the Whipple. Many thanks to Lionel for the great opportunity to try out the Whipple.

In our quest to bring you mud racing up close and personel, we decided to "jump on the back" of Jim Lamb's Full Throttle racer with a video camera and experience a pass. OK, actually we just attached the cam to the car. We're just glad we didn't attach this thing to Cody's car—not sure the little camera would have made it! Sit back and enjoy the ride!
It was a busy weekend for mud racing, with big races going on all over the country. Scott and Paul decided to take the Paperboy south to Hamilton Missouri. It was a great race with 12 open class entries (8 blowers) and the fans of Hamilton were treated to some outstanding action.
Most of you have probably seen the video we posted yesterday of Cody Rossman's Flying Penny Pusher. We'd just like to update that we talked to Cody a couple times today and he is doing fine, already thinking about putting the Penny Pusher back together again for next season. That's great news Cody; we're so glad you are ok!
We have been having trouble uploading the rest of the video to the blog via the wireless device, so hopefully we will be able to get that up by tomorrow. Check it out because there were some real outstanding runs! Congratulations to Andy Garrett in Bamboozled who laid down two smokin' passes to win, followed by the incredible flying dragon Cody Rossman (who definately tripped the timer with the rears) and Scott picked up third with a real nice pass in the Paperboy.
We'd like to thank the great fans of Hamilton for their enthusiasm and support!! All the racers really appreciated them. And a big thanks to Dusty D, Scott Grahmn and the wonderful crew for this race They were as professional and as organized as it gets. It really was a nice paced event with tons of action.
Well, you know when we start the post off with, "don't worry, Cody is FINE" it probably isn't that good. Well, Cody is fine, but check out what happened at Hamilton....
